Athletic Background
Like most, I played pretty much every sport growing up. I loved running around mostly which kind of led me to track. The biggest reason I started running was my brother who I really look up to and admire.
One day my brother was headed to the track for 9th-grade track practice. I can remember wanting to go along and run with him. When we got there I remember daring him to race me in a full lap. We did and I can recall my entire body aching from what  I thought was the longest run I have ever done. I would say this quarter-mile run was my first real run ever. My time was around 64 seconds and now I am running around 52/53 for a 400.
First Run
Today
I joined UPJ Track on scholarship and run every day with my teammates now. In the fall I plan on joining the cross country team for the first time in my college career. I think running cross country will allow me to run longer events in track where I can be more competitive. I currently am a decathlon athlete which means I compete in 10 events for each being scored for one grand total.
After graduation, I plan on running 2-3 times a week. I have been thinking about joining a local running club in my area to train for 5K's around my area.

Tip: You may start out at one event like the half marathon, but find out you're actually a better marathon runner. It happens to everyone and it is all part of the process.
